Tråd: Problem with DDNS on Dovado 4GR

Dovado 4GR
Firmware Revision:    5.0.16.6508 official
Firmware build date:    2012-02-28T09:44:46Z

I have a problem with the Dovado 4gr when I try to use DDNS and my own DDNS server.

In system, DDNS, I choose service provider other, and then I can insert these settings:

You can try to use an unsupported DynDNS provider by entering the URL to the provider below.
Service provider URL:
Username:
Password:
My domain:

I'm inserting the full url for my server with username, password and domain. But I can't get it to work. I can't see any traffic towards my server. I'm even using tcpdump to see if I can see packets from my router, but it is nothing there.

Can someone from Dovado tell me if this functionality actually is working?

Rune,

It'd be a whole lot easier if you filed a support ticket so that we have full knowledge of your data.

Two most common reasons why Dynamic DNS doesn't work for people are:

A)  Using an APN which does not permit it. This is most common.
B)  The Dynamic DNS account has been blocked/disabled by that DNS provider on account of excessive frequency of renewal requests. This is something attributed to low lease times on mobile broadband in combination with using a FREE account on say, DynDNS.org. If you use a paid account, this problem is solved.

So, which one are you? In any case, fill in the support portal so we can cut down on the guessing.

there is little info on useing other ddns hosts  with dovado.
i been looking for it also,
if you get any error codes ither on server or router, it would help pin it down.
also how is the login done on your own ddns server? via web or in url?

Sam:
Support-request filed.
For curious readers I will update this ticket when I get an answer.

Answers to your questions:
A) I don't know what APN I'm using. (Tele2 Norway) I don't think thats an issue anyway. I'm doing (or at least trying) a regular http-request and since I can surf normally with this usb-modem this should not be a problem.
B) I'm using my own server and I'm my own DNS-provider.

G-man:
Is there a way to see error codes on the 4GR?
I'm using tcpdump on my server, and I don't see any traffic whatsoever. So there will be no error codes on my server, before I receive the traffic.

I'm trying this in the Service provider URL:
http://my-server-ip-addr/cgi/dyndns.cgi
